Text Box: NASA will soon be releasing a funding opportunity under its new Innovations in Global Climate Change Education (IGCCE) project, which is part of NASA’s Minority University Research and Education Program. The goals of IGCCE are two-fold: (1) to increase the level of climate literacy and engagement of the United States public; and (2) to create a diverse, highly skilled, and motivated future workforce in climate-related sciences. IGCCE will be accepting proposals from minority institutions, community colleges, K-12 school districts with high minority populations, and non-profits focused on underrepresented minorities. It is anticipated that there will be opportunities for partnership and collaboration to leverage past and current climate change education efforts. Majority institutions are encouraged to seek partnership opportunities.
To learn more about this opportunity, you can participate via webcast or at site-based workshops hosted by Space Grant consortia across the country. See registration information below. Site participation will feature the webcast program and include the chance to interact with state Space Grant consortium representatives and with the leads of currently funded NASA Global Climate Change Education projects, and to network with other attending organizations who may be potential partners. The webcast program will provide an overview of the IGCCE funding opportunity, as well as sessions on proposal development and proposal submission via electronic venues.
