Program Description

Graduate Research Fellowships

Research awards of add-on graduate support for students enrolled at a Virginia Space Grant university pursuing a STEM field of graduate study (Masters or Doctoral level) with aerospace relevance.
Undergraduate Research Scholarships
  Due: February 8, 2010
  Max: $8,500
One-year, non-renewable support for undergraduate students enrolled in a Virginia Space Grant university pursuing a STEM field of study with aerospace relevance and actively engaged in a research project.
Teacher Education Scholarships
  Due: March 22, 2010
  Max: $1,000
Awards for students enrolled at a Virginia Space Grant university in a track that leads to teacher certification in a pre-college setting in a STEM field.
Community College Scholarships
  Due: March 22, 2010
  Award: $1,500
Awards made to students enrolled at a Virginia community college, who have completed at least one semester of coursework and are pursuing a program of study that includes coursework related to an understanding of or interest in technological fields supporting aerospace.
Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholars (LARSS)
  Due: Spring, Summer, and Fall deadlines
  Graduate: $5,000
  Undergraduate: $4,500
A 10-week summer internship at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) that benefits rising undergraduate juniors and seniors, and graduate students who are pursuing degrees in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, computer science, atmospheric science, astrophysics, physics, chemistry, or selected aerospace disciplines of interest to LaRC.
NASA Exploration Systems Mission Directorate (ESMD) Internship Program
  Due: Ongoing
  Undergraduate/Graduate: $6,000
Awards for undergraduate or graduate students to be engaged in an ESMD-related internship at a NASA Center.
